Beautiful Italian Campsite

We have holidayed at 4-5 star campsites in France, Spain and Italy since 2009, and having just arrived back from 2 glorious weeks from Sant d’Angelo Village, we can safely say it has been the most friendliest and cleanest campsite we have ever stayed on, and a pleasure to have been there. We... were so impressed by how friendly all the staff were – everyone we met - from the security staff who greeted you every day, to the wonderful staff in the supermarket, Vincenzo, Antonio, Elena and all the great crew in the restaurant, the beach bar, and in the campsite shop. We stayed here from 25th May to 8th June 2025 and if you are looking for a quieter time to visit, maybe with younger children, then this is a perfect time as its very relaxed. The site got noticeably busier on 6th/7th June with an influx of Italian families on holiday.
The site itself has everything you need with its own and reasonably priced supermarket, excellent and modern restaurant, takeaway, fruit/veg market, ice cream parlour, beach bar, playground, sports area, bike hire, and of course its own private beach complete with playground to keep little ones entertained. If you want to explore further, the town of Cavallino is around 15 mins walk, and here you will find plenty more restaurants, shops and supermarkets, and also hosts a huge market on Tuesday mornings.
Our party of 4 adults and 2 toddlers flew into Venice (Marco Polo) Airport, and had a taxi pre-booked. Journey to campsite took approx. 40 minutes and cost approx €120 each way. This suited our group to cater for all the luggage and double buggy etc. However, there is also a public bus service that runs from directly outside the airport and drops you to the bus stop directly outside the campsite, costing approx €7. Depending on the bus route there may be a change in Jesolo.
A bank of reception desks greet you at the gate to the campsite and are very efficient checking you through. Wristbands must be worn at all times as there are security personnel at the campsite entrance as well as at the gates to the beach to discreetly check these every day.
Over the years of “camping”, we have booked accommodation directly with campsites, as well as booking through Eurocamp, Allcamps, Canvas and other operators, and there are always slight differences between each as to what is included as part of the booking and if not, available at an extra cost.
This year we booked directly with the campsite, who certainly had the nicest accommodation and we stayed in a Maxi Caravan Smart XL Beach. This was a beautifully modern and very spacious mobile, with full width covered deck, located near the beach. Beds were made up when we arrived with a fitted sheet and a blanket per bed, and we were supplied with our “bedlinen” which consisted of a single white over sheet and pillowcase, and these were refreshed for the second week.

There were a couple of things not included in the accommodation which could really help guests, particularly for those like us who flew to Italy and therefore were limited with our luggage.
The first was towels – these were not provided nor was there an option to rent them - guests had to bring their own.
The second was BBQs, though permitted, again they were not provided nor was there an option to rent them. We would always associate bbq’ing as part of our campsite holidays, so thought it was a little strange these were not available – even to rent.
For children, there is also a charge for hiring a bedrail and cot which work out at an additional €4 for each item per day which seemed quite expensive, and from our past experience these were items just available to book with other operators.
Also to note there were 3 steps up to the decking at the mobile and no safety gates were provided. Safety gates have featured automatically with some other operators.
There are a bank of sunbeds and parasols at the swimming pool and on the beach, however these are for hire only and there are separate designated areas for those that don’t want to hire any. Whatever about charging for sunbeds at the beach, we have never been on a campsite that has these charges at the pool before and can result in an €140-€200 cost per couple to the holiday. Sunbed hire prices start at around €10 per day by the pool (2 sunbeds + parasol) and range from €8-14 per day on the beach depending on the zone you choose. The rates also change depending on the time of season. If you book your accommodation directly with the campsite, you will receive a campsite card which is used to reserve the sunbeds whenever needed. This is then added to your account and you pay when settling your bill at checkout. Other guests in our party were staying in Eurocamp accommodation and had to go through a separate process to book/pay their sunbeds via a separate app. We got used to hiring beds each day and in fairness they were clean and very comfortable. However, we were there when the campsite was fairly quiet. In high season I can understand it’s a way to control people not hogging sunbeds all day with towels, but when we were there (end of may/early June) with much fewer guests it seemed a little ridiculous to have all the empty sunbeds around the pool or at the beach and people who didn’t want to hire them had to sit in a designated section. One of the designated sections at the pool was at a very high level with no railings, and accessed by concrete steps, which was not an ideal solution for those with toddlers and buggies.
Being located so close to Venice we took a day trip to the wonderful city. We bought our day return ticket in the campsite shop for €24 each and this covered the bus fare to the port (15 mins journey), as well as the waterbus into Venice (approx. 30 mins), and back.
A €10 tourist tax applied for the day we were visiting Venice and the guy in the shop gave us the website and told us to buy this online in advance as it is cheaper. You are given a

QR code which is then scanned as you get off the waterbus in Venice. It is definitely worth buying in advance as anyone that had not prepaid for their tourist tax were being charged €35 each.
All in all, we were really impressed with Sant d’Angelo Village and all it had to offer. Yes there were certain things done differently to other campsites, but these have no impact on the fantastic holiday experience we had and would definitely return.
