Great place, terrible experience

The location is pretty cute, and the atmosphere looks incredible from the outside. The camping itself has a lot going for it: the pool is beautiful, the sea is lovely, the surroundings are really nice, and overall it has the potential to be an amazing place to spend a holiday with your family or friends.... The problem is what happens once you actually get inside.
Firstly, we were told that the booking of an umbrella and two deckchairs at the beach was already included in the price, which turned out not to be true. They instead asked us to pay for them, including for the days when we didn't even go to the beach, and it was pretty expensive. So my advice is to get an umbrella and some beach towels and go to the free beach area instead.
The bungalow was pretty good. Maybe some more silverware would have been appreciated, however, it was very well equipped, with a cheese grater, pasta strainer, pots, pans and plates. The problem is that when we got inside for the first time, the cleaning wasn't excellent. There was a lot of dust on the floor and on some surfaces more than others. The kitchen, at least, seemed well sanitised, especially the surfaces.
Also, the mattresses in the bungalow we stayed in were hard like rocks. We woke up stiff every single morning.
The noise isn't too bad. There are quiet periods where silence is mandatory for nap and sleeping time in general, which is actually a nice thing (except when you're literally just whispering, smoking a cigarette outside and they tell you to shut up anywas). The only really loud thing is in the evening, because of a concert at the beach, but it stops around 12:00/1:00 a.m. at the latest.
Now for the worst part...
We didn't have a good experience with the night watchman at all.
At first, he seemed very gentle and friendly, easy-going even. It turned out he wasn't like that. He made slimy comments directed at underage girls that were with us, and we constantly felt like we were being watched inside the camping area at night. We also saw flashlight beams coming from around door and windows, and heard footsteps on the steps leading to the entrance of our bungalow.
Unfortunately, we were never able to actually see who was there, so we couldn't say for certain who it was. But we heard it multiple times, on different nights, and it was not something we could mistake for another sound. It sounded like someone was actually walking on the steps right outside our bungalow and peaking inside.
And honestly, this completely changed our experience of the place.
A camping site can have dirty floors, hard mattresses, bugs and expensive drinks — those are annoying, but you can deal with them. Feeling like someone might be watching you outside your bungalow in the middle of the night though is a completely different matter. We came here to relax and enjoy a holiday, but instead we spent several nights feeling genuinely uncomfortable and, at times, terrified.
Also, if you're from Veneto, be prepared to pay €6 for a spritz... I know. It's bad.
Last but not least: the bugs. If you're scared of spiders, crickets, ants or cockroaches, be ready, because you might have some very close encounters. And yes, even inside the bungalow, partly because the mosquito nets were broken in some places. The birds also really do not care that you're there — they dotted pretty much every surface with fecal matter.
So here we are, at the conclusion of this review.
I genuinely loved the pool, I loved the sea, I loved the atmosphere of the camping, and I loved staying there with my family. That's probably the most frustrating part: this place could be absolutely fantastic. It has a beautiful location, a great pool, almost direct access to the sea (3 minutes walk), a nice atmosphere and everything you could need for a really enjoyable holiday.
But all of that was overshadowed by the feeling of being uncomfortable and unsafe at night. On one side, this is a really cool camping site with a lot of potential. On the other, our experience, at night especially, was honestly terrifying.
We came here to relax, but unfortunately, we got home more stressed than before.
For that reason, as much as I enjoyed some aspects of our stay, I don't think we'll ever come back.
