Don’t be put off by the reviews, we had a great time

We just returned and had a great time, I would highly recommend Bella Italia to anyone with kids. I was put off by so many negative reviews but didn’t find most of it to be true.
The park is spotlessly clean and manicured. The facilities are great - the supermarket is pretty big but pricey (Waitrose... UK prices) so we walked to Lidl twice for a bigger shop (20 mins). The food outlets are also ample; pricey but not extortionate.
The pools are fantastic for all ages and abilities but icy cold even in 24 degree heat and it’s almost impossible to get a sun lounger unless you get up at the crack of dawn. There’s the mini train, bounce parks, playgrounds, go carts, amusements. We didn’t use the kids club as it looked limited (you probably have to supervise younger kids) or see the entertainment shows but they were on daily.
The caravan was perfect. We did a lot of research and got a HU open air excellence (so a nicer one). It was spotlessly clean and modern. We had linen and towels, air con/heating, a dishwasher, coffee machines, a gas BBQ. The street we were on was quiet and centrally located. I think it’s worth going for a nicer one, Estivo also looked like the better ones from outside. In general, they’re all well kept from the outside. The Bella italia ones look a little more dated inside. HU were very helpful and even provided us with frying pans (only kitchen item not included at first).
Loads of great trips: Gardaland, Verona, Venice, and Lazise. We got buses, ferries, and trains. The bus stop is right outside the park but Italian buses seem to always be 10-40 mins late and they run once an hour! Also, pay cash if you can as if the tap in/tap out system doesn’t work, you’ll get ripped off. I think you can do the trip without a car. The taxi from Verona airport was €50 and the taxi back to peschiera station was €11. The recommended chauffeur service was significantly more so call a radio taxi if you want to save.
