Great holiday

We travelled as a family 2 adults and 2 kids (9 & 15). Me and my hubby have been to Venice before but the kids haven't, so we knew about the transport and where things were.
We flew from Manchester to Marco Polo and stayed 2 nights in a hotel in Venice city. We decided to do this as our flight landed... late on the Friday and we thought it would be a nice opportunity for the kids to see the city.
We travelled from the airport to the city by the Alilaguna airport boat. This cost €18pp and we bought the ticket from the desk on arrival (from airport arrivals take the lift downstairs and follow the signs, it's about a 10 minute walk)
We didn't have anything booked in Venice since we had already done all of the main sights on our last trip so we just wandered and ate lots of gelato...the best imo is from Suso and it's the flavour Opera, you have never tasted anything like it 🤤
We got a 24 hour vaporetto pass on our 2nd day which covered us getting to Punta Sabbioni as well. These were €24pp and you can buy them at any vaporetto stop at the machines. They don't start until you validate them and then you have 24 hours to finish your journeys.
On our 3rd day we walked to f.te Nova B and got the vaparetto over to Punta Sabbioni, had some lunch as we were a bit early for check in and then got a taxi to Marina Di Vanizia from the taxi rank, this cost €12
When we arrived at Marina Di Vanizia we were greeted by the check in staff who were very friendly and gave us some info and also our bands. They then took us by buggy to our tour operator (All Camps) office which was in Marina 2000. We were again given lots of information and also the key to our mobile home. We had a 2 bed, 2 bath Redwood which comes with a fridge freezer, hob and microwave. You are provided with cutlery, pots, pans, kitchen utensils. We were also given a welcome pack which contained a mini washing up liquid, sponge, cloth, brush and a shopping bag.
Plenty of wardrobe space in the main bedroom, not as much in the 2nd but was enough for us. Plenty of space under the beds to store our cases which was handy.
When you arrive you have to download the app and sign the declaration, this also gives you access to the WiFi and the info about the campsite.
The bus around the camp wasn't running when we arrived and so we decided to rent some bikes. The site is huge and walking is doable but the bikes were the best investment we made, most ppl have brought bikes as they have driven but you can rent them from the rental place near the main entrance.
The pools are great, the 2 level pool and the kids pool is heated. However only kids under 5 can use the kids slides (much to my nervous 9 year olds disappointment 😞) the wave pool and the splash park aren't heated and neither is the adults lane pool. Slides were great and never too much of a wait.
Sunbeds are paid and you can choose either half (from/till 2pm) or full day. There's no stampede for beds and whilst we were there whatever time we arrived we always got some. There's also a grassed area where you don't pay and you can just put your towels out.
They do activities at the pool daily, water spin class, water Zumba, and other exercise classes. Toilets are located at each end of the waterpark and it's adjacent to where the shops are.
1-3.30 is siesta so they close the big slides but the pools stay open. The main shops in the middle also close but the restaurants stay open.
The beach is gorgeous, again you have to pay for beds but there are areas where you can use your own towels, chairs etc. for free. There is also a little bar/shop that runs up and down the length of the beach where you can buy drinks and snacks and he takes card which is a bonus! There are toilets and full on private showers and it's all super clean.
There's lots of restaurants and shops and they sell everything you could possibly need. There's a clothes/shoe/bag shop, camping gear, jewellery, toys, souvenirs, pharmacy, beauticians, photography, supermarket, sweets, bakery, fruit and veg plus the galatarie.
There is also a supermarket across the road which is a bit cheaper than the onsite one. Plus a restaurant which makes a nice change and the food is amazing.
There is a kids club but my two didn't take part as they are a bit old for it now but the kids seemed to have a great time. There's also evening entertainment on each night and we caught a couple of the shows and the were really good.
The gym is in the sporting section. It's €2 for an hour and you just need your camping pass to set up
It has treadmills, a cross trainer, rowers plus a good selection of dumbbells, a squat rack, smith machine and some other weight machines.
The day before we left the tour op came around to ask what time we'd be going and we arranged to be picked up by the buggy as we had no car. Our flight wasn't till 19.45 and we had to be out by 10.30 so our plan was to get the bus up to Lido di Jeslo and spend the day there before getting the next bus up to the airport.
Departure day was an early start as we had to pack and clean the accommodation before being collected at 10.30.
When we went to the main check out the staff asked if we had a car booked or if we were staying for a bit. This surprised me as I was under the impression that we had to leave the site. He explained that we could stay till 3pm (they would store our luggage) and there would be no charge. After 3pm they would charge but it wasn't much only about €11pp. If I had known this earlier I would have been better prepared for the day but as everything was packed up it was a bit disappointing. We did however decide to stay till 3 as it was easier than taking all of the luggage up to Jeslo and waiting around all day.
We decided to see if we could get a taxi to the airport to save faff later so went to the information desk, the lady there was the most helpful person. She tried to book us a taxi but explained as it was a bank holiday in Italy they were all booked up. She instead helped us navigate and book tickets for the bus up to Punta Sabbioni, followed by the boat over to Lido di Venizia. From there we would need to book the Alilaguna tickets back to the airport. She gave us all of the timetables and made sure we had everything that we needed.
We spent the rest of the time having a wander and some lunch before we got the 2.45 bus up to the port.
The boat from the port to Lido was very busy given it was a bank holiday and with the kids and all of the luggage was a bit stressful but we made it!
This is the first time we have done a camp site and I must say I'm impressed. We usually stay in 4/5* hotels in Spain/Italy and the camp site is the cleanest, most well maintained place I have ever stayed. The toilet/shower blocks are immaculate and I'd love to drive back and do the proper camping. I've even tried to convince my husband to invest in a campervan so we can bring our dog along next time but he's having none of it! Oh I forgot to say, it's a dog friendly site, which made us miss our toy poodle lots but it's so lovely seeing all of the dogs wandering around enjoying their holiday too!
Shout out to João and Jenny who were the most helpful on our last day.
