Review of Le Soleil de la Méditerranée, Saint Cyprien
We recently stayed at Le Soleil de la Méditerranée, and while there were a few positive aspects, the overall experience left us quite disappointed.
On the positive side, the front desk staff were lovely and very accommodating. They had our accommodation... ready early, and when we found that the original place was too small, they were helpful in moving us to a larger unit. The pool area was nice, although it’s worth noting that it's smaller than it looks in the promotional photos.
Unfortunately, the negatives far outweighed the positives for us. The campsite seemed to cater almost entirely to French guests, with no Eurocamp staff on-site—only Marvilla Park employees. As a result, all of the entertainment and signage were exclusively in French, which made it difficult to engage if you're not fluent.
A big issue was the presence of many guests openly smoking weed throughout the campsite, which made the environment uncomfortable at times. The on-site shop was very limited, with only basic supplies, and the restaurant/bar experience was frustrating. One evening, it was closed without notice, another night, they were only serving mussels (which is problematic for someone like me with a shellfish allergy), and on our third try, they were only offering burgers and pizza despite other items being on the menu.
The beach is also significantly farther than advertised—it was more like a 20–25-minute walk in intense heat, not the 10 minutes claimed. Once there, the beachfront was surprisingly quiet, with limited food options (mainly mussels, burgers, and pizza again).
Having stayed at other Eurocamp locations that catered much more to international tourists, this one felt more like a local French holiday park rather than the diverse, welcoming Eurocamp experience we expected.
Rating: Based on the overall experience, I’d give it 2 out of 5 stars. The staff and pool were good, but everything else—from lack of inclusivity to limited food and activities—really missed the mark.
