A week at Enmar.

I’ve just spent a week at Enmar and here’s my very thorough review!
The check in desk are so kind and helpful and we were given 2 free sangria vouchers which was a nice treat.
We stayed in a premium caravan, 3 bedrooms and a very small kitchen/ living space. Air con was good, nice after a day... in the sun. There were a few tiny ants but the reception said there is a spray they can put down. In the end we didn’t have to contact them as we managed to deter them.
What we found hard work was keeping our toddler from going down the steps of the decking and running off. We fashioned a gate from chairs and a clothes maiden but wasn’t perfect, if you have a toddler it’s not ideal at all. We would have enjoyed the deck a lot more had it had a gate and a lock and not just open steps. The bedding we brought was a double as they specified but definitely more like a king sized bed. Beds are comfy.. The caravans are squashed very tightly together, I opened the window in the toilet to someone on their deck, it was very awkward 😂
There is a shop on site, reasonably priced and has a few things in. We visited Consum which is a supermarket only 7 minutes away on foot. Very convenient and great for those on a budget.
There are 4 pools, 2 of which are heated, and two water slides for older children/adults. The swimming rules are quite relaxed and lifeguard just walks around, most of the time positioned at the top of the slide so something to bear in mind.
The entertainment was there a few times during the day but it’s not actually in the mini club centre, it’s usually in the pool, we saw volleyball in the pool, basketball in the pool, water aerobics etc. My shy little boy eventually joined in and they were great with him..
There is a singer on a few times a week but is just a gentlemen just stood on the stage, my children weren’t interested.
Pool bar is so good, lovely smoothies and yummy salty chips 😂
There is a restaurant upstairs at the pool but I believe they recommend booking. when we arrived, to an empty restaurant, the manager put his head in his hands and really was distressed at finding us a table. Didn’t feel super welcome. However when all the Spanish elderly arrived they were greeted with kisses and hugs, they must have booked. 😂 Food was good, reasonably priced.
What I would say ruined it for us was the people! 😆 It really is like a holiday village for older generations, who will not hesitate to tell your child to shut up. One elderly man told my child to shh when he was playing in the pool, had he been able to speak English he would have understood when I told him no, my child will not be quiet. If he was being unreasonably loud I would have agreed but children should be able to make noise on their own holiday!
Another man shouted at my child for accidentally spraying him with water, in the pool!!! And the cleaner told one of mine off for knocking on a door with wet hands, because she had to clean it again.
The beach is made up of small rocks rather than sand, water shoes are a must which are sold in the shops nearby. Sand is a good exfoliant but difficult for little feet when it’s hot. There is a water sports area about 10 minute walk down from Enmar.
Wifi was an issue for us as when it got too hot my children liked to go inside and have some downtime but wifi costs €8 per device per week. Also it’s quite bad signal so doesn’t always connect to the WiFi well.
Overall it was a lovely quiet week but would I go again, probably not no!
