We arrived at the campsite and although early was greeted by some of the staff who said the office would be open shortly and that we could park up and wait. We decided to go to the bar / restaurant for a drink and ended up booking for an evening meal….which turned out to be fabulous…although we only... had one night here we found this campsite to be one of the best that we had stopped at on our trip from Venice to Calais

We were in La Bergerie for World Cup rugby in Nice with some serious problems regarding the logistics of getting to Nice and back, especially late at night with no public transport. In all our years of caravanning in France we have never come across a more helpful and welcoming team as this. Without... their help I think we would still be standing outside the stadium trying to get back to their campsite! Nothing was too much trouble. From the moment we arrived, which was out of open reception hours, the site had a relaxed but efficient feel to it. Toilet blocks immaculate although there was no hot water in the sinks for washing dishes which was the only negative point we could find. No tv in the bar for rugby matches was a shame but wifi enabled us to watch what was on.
The location of the site was outstanding and the free bus into Vence was a bonus. A thoroughly enjoyable stay made more memorable by the helpful staff.
Thanks very much from Barry and Sue Scott, Gary and Jonathan Butler and Dave Jones
The campsite is strategically located if you want to visit Chapelle de Rosaire (Matisse) in Vence (shuttle bus) and Fondation Maeght (Miro etc) in St Paul-de-Vence (boring walk). Beautiful pitches and nice surroundings. We have no complaints whatsoever.
Standard pitches are quite small and close together so worth it to pay bit extra for larger 'comfort' pitch. Enjoyed the lovely pool, almost empty in September but it may be too small for the size of the site in high season. The snack bar was open evenings. It was also nice to have woods to walk in with... the dog and escape the heat. Dog walking areas seemed lacking in other sites we visited. Large number of facilities, some very modern, but all in a central area so could be a long walk, depending on your location. Bring good mozzie repellent. Good location for sight-seeing with a car.

No need to book, we turned up and were allowed to choose our pitch. The staff were very friendly although the boy sent to hook up our electricity took 2 hours to arrive, when he did arrive, he placed the plug inside the electricity box but didn't connect the supply. We then waited a further hour for... him to return to reopen the box and connect the plug!
Nevertheless, this was a great stay, there is a restaurant on site (open later in the evening) but you need to book a table if you wish to eat in. Food can be ordered to take away however this must be done either before 7pm or after 9pm. We ordered the chips and pizza to take away and these were tasty and good value for money. They even had plastic cups so we were able to purchase a couple of cold draught beers to take back to our tent.
As others have mentioned, the pool closes between 12.30pm and 3pm. The pools are clean and well maintained and there is a life guard on site. The washing machine/dryers use a token purchased from reception and you can book a hair appointment with a local hairdresser if needed.
There are different washing/showering blocks on site to choose from, some are situated outside and others inside. Some showers you can control the temperature, others you can't which are set at a lukewarm temperature (I preferred these given the time of year and the hot sunny weather). The toilet and washing facilities are kept very clean and parents are advised to accompany their children to the toilets.
There is a shop on site where you can order baguette/croissant for the morning (this must be placed the day before) and can be paid up front or on collection. These are fresh and lovely to eat. I would recommend payment on collection as we ordered and paid at time of ordering, the morning of collection they had lost/no proof of our order the day before. At 3 euro lost, I'm not complaining as we found a lovely bakery in nearby Vence.
The site is in a good location for exploring, plenty of cycle routes, historical places of interest and a 30 minute drive from the coast and Nice etc.
