I have skied for three decades and stayed in a variety of resorts and accommodation. We booked Half Board. Breakfast and Evening Meal at the The Odalys. The rooms are privately owned, so quality is not consistent. Our room was okay-ish. Basic, but pleasant. The hotel location is excellent for skiing,... but a disaster if you need a transfer. It can only be reached by Gondola. So you need to use this to reach the village for evening nightlife and everything else. It is free and starts at 8:30am and stops at 10pm. If you miss that last run, you will need to walk a mile up a road, or up the piste, which is virtually impossible. Our transfer home was 8:30am from the village. We had no way to make the village as the Gondola doesn't start until 8:30, and then you need to lug your baggage across town, and down to the coach park. This is the same for everyone. We had to pay for a cab to pick 9 of our party up. There is a 100 euro minimum Alps charge per person. Are you feeling our pain yet. It doesn't stop there.
The food is provided by the restaurant next to the hotel. Their food and service is terrible. I mean really terrible. The breakfast is great if you love Cornflakes, but fight for everything else. The menu for hotel guests is not the same as visitors, despite having paid enough extra per day to simply pay full price and choose from the full menu. No vegetables available either. So you are living on pizza and chips every day. Not ideal.
The Odalys is ideal if you drive yourself, as there is a superb underground car park (100 euros for the week).
My recommendation, only book here if you are driving, and go self catering and book on AirBnB.
So, my 2 stars. Well, it was incredibly expensive. The food was terrible. Had I driven and gone self catering and booked directly, I would have given it 4 stars. But it just doesn't merit 5 stars. The issue with the transfers and the food really spoilt our stay.
The Hotel staff were lovely, but unable to help at all. So, nice but ineffective.
Stay somewhere else if you must ski Les Arcs. I think you will dodge a bullet.
