Between Nantes and La Rochelle, Olonne-sur-Mer is a sun-drenched green Vendée. Forests, ancient salt marshes, bird sanctuaries, long sandy beaches and a wild, rugged coastline... The landscapes of this little paradise are an invitation to travel.

In the state-owned forest, which was erected a long time ago as a natural rampart to protect the salt marshes, tall acacias, maritime pines, holm oaks, elder trees and other maples accompany your stroll. The walk, with its magical airs, gives you exactly what you need: calm, freshness and serenity.

Résidence Nemea Les Grands Rochers is a 3-star campsite located in Olonne-sur-Mer (now part of Les Sables-d'Olonne), in the Vendée. It enjoys a wild and unspoilt setting, between the national forest, the old salt marshes and the Atlantic coast. The establishment is ideally located around 1.5 km from the sea and Sauveterre beach, which is directly accessible via a footpath and cycle path. Nature lovers will appreciate the proximity of the wild coastline and the large sandy beaches of Les Sables-d'Olonne (around 4 km away). For your aquatic relaxation, the residence has a lovely area with a heated indoor pool and a heated outdoor pool with paddling pool and waterslide (outdoor pool opens at Easter, weather permitting).

For your leisure activities, the residence offers facilities for all ages. Adults can enjoy a fitness room and sauna with free access for getting back into shape. In high season (July and August), the establishment offers a free Mini-Club for children aged 4 to 12, which organises fun and sporting activities (games, workshops, muscle-building). Sports activities for adults and teenagers are also available in summer. The surrounding area lends itself to a host of outdoor activities, including walking or cycling (bike hire available nearby) along the Vélodyssée cycle paths, water sports (surfing, sailing, sea kayaking) and excursions to discover the heritage of the Vendée, such as the Château de Talmont-Saint-Hilaire or the salt marshes.

The residence is made up of comfortable, detached houses. The accommodation consists of fully-equipped studios or flats, with a kitchenette (hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and coffee maker) and a private bathroom. For your convenience, outdoor parking is included. Wi-Fi is available free of charge at reception. For an additional fee, the residence offers a breakfast service, TV rental, and bed and bathroom linen rental. A laundry service is also available (at an additional cost).

We had an excellent week at Residence Nemea Les Grands Rochers. The welcome we received from Ben and his team on arrival and throughout our stay was excellent. One improvement could be the quality of the WiFi but that will not stop us from coming back.

Disappointing - it is my view the apartment was tired, unkempt and lacked cleanliness.

In my personal experience I would not recommend this residence, it was expensive for an apartment which was unkempt and most uncomfortable.
- plates were cracked, mugs were discolored and dirty
- Sofa bed required to be replaced/worn
