Love it..keep returning after ten years

OK, from the start, we're possibly a bit biased as we own our own mobile here (pay groundrent and all services included each year). But every year this is relaxation for three or four weeks, at different times, and we love it. And we do go elsewhere also, but keep loving Sables D'Or. Now, the site isn't... a five star hotel (and some of the other comments expect a lot) but the staff are kind, friendly and attentive, and if we have a problem they're quick to help. We have fabulous pools (including flumes, lovely swimming areas, and a new Disneyesque Pirate pool area with wave machine, surf pool, and lazy river). And in the other direction we're five minutes walk from the sea - and it can be a bit chilly at times, but that's the way it goes nature-wise! This year we've taken to hiring sunbeds and being served in a private area on the beach - €16 for a bed for the day. The other nature issue is the mosquitos...small and viscious. But that goes with a coastal campsite, and again hardly the site's fault. The sanitation blocks, as stated are a bit tired, but cleaned every day and due to be replaced next year. But nearly all mobiles have toilet, shower, etc. If you need to wash clothes there's a state of the art launderette on site. Local shopping is good - the site itself has a small supermarket, a great bakery, and precooked meals. There's a huge Hypermarket ten minutes away, and Agde and surrounding towns have markets. Nighttime entertainment this time has been hit and miss...takes place in the site bar, or its beach bar where you can by a drink and sit at a table, or watch for free from surrounding bench seating. But for the first time ever we saw one show this week with more than half empty seats in the bar area - a kid's fantasy all narrated in French. Clever, but for adults of a multi national audience at 21.30 in the evening - a miss, not a hit. And yes, some other shows on other nights done by the entertainment staff can seem amateurish - but they are also fun and charming. And some of the dance/song/magic over the years has been superb - and lacking this year. But again, this is not a five star hotel or a cruise ship. Above all we come to be happy - there's a family atmosphere (more now than previously and fewer 'gangs' of noisy young people hiring mobiles) and people smile and get on well together. Recommended!
