Lido di Sesto, located in Sesto Calende (VA), lies on the banks of the River Ticino and Lake Maggiore, in the heart of the Ticino Park nature reserve. This natural setting is ideal for those seeking a balance between relaxation, outdoor activities and discovering the surrounding area. Thanks to its privileged location, it is an excellent base for exploring the attractions of Lake Maggiore, such as the famous Borromean Islands, around 40 km away, or the picturesque town of Arona, with its famous statue of San Carlo Borromeo, the second highest statue in the world that can be visited (just 10 km away). Nearby, 35 km away, is the charming Lake Orta, another destination not to be missed.
The campsite has a swimming pool open from June to September, ideal for families, with a maximum depth of 1.40 metres. Visitors can also enjoy a solarium area equipped with sun loungers and parasols (at an additional cost), or choose a shaded area. Access to the pool is free, but bathing caps must be worn.
Water sports enthusiasts will find a wide choice of activities at Lido di Sesto. The campsite offers canoe hire, Manta5 hydrofoils SL3 (water bikes for adults), stand-up paddles and no-licence boats (booking required). You can also hire bikes to explore Lake Maggiore and the surrounding area, including a cycle path along the river to Milan. A nearby nautical centre offers mooring and maintenance services.
The campsite offers practical services such as a launderette and free Wi-Fi. For meals, the bar is open all day, and the restaurant-pizzeria serves a variety of dishes made with fresh produce.
