# Honest Review # – Significant Issues 🐀 🐀 Overshadow the Positives
I don’t normally leave reviews, but because we had such a mixed experience I felt a real need to share. In particular the campsite is quite remote with very few places nearby to eat, meaning you are essentially reliant on... the onsite restaurant which is poor, really poor. We also experienced a very concerning issue with a rat being spotted beside our table in the bar area while dining.
We recently stayed here and had a very mixed experience, with several serious issues that unfortunately had a big impact on our holiday.
The biggest concern for us was the bar and restaurant area. The food was consistently disappointing, and the service felt completely overwhelmed, understaffed, and unable to cope especially during busy periods. On top of this we were charged different prices for the same drinks on different evenings, with no clear or consistent price list available, which felt confusing and frustrating.
The most concerning incident happened one evening when a rat ran out beside our table in the outdoor bar/restaurant area and disappeared underneath the tiled flooring. We reported it to staff, who said they would deal with it the following morning by putting poison down. We found this response quite alarming and combined with the poor food and inconsistent pricing we chose not to use the restaurant or bar again for the rest of our stay.
Entertainment is also something to be aware of, practically non existent. Almost all activities both daytime and evening, are run entirely and I mean entirely in Italian. For non-Italian speaking families this makes it very difficult to participate or feel included. The evening entertainment also felt repetitive, often featuring the same performer with repetitive music shouting into a microphone. As the area is so remote with no nearby town or at least nowhere within walking distance we felt at a loss as to how to entertain the kids in the evening. There is a nearby disco which can be heard across the campsite, personally we didn't have an issue with this but if you're looking for a quite stay you may want to reconsider.
The location is quite remote, and the immediate surrounding area (within 5–10 miles) felt run down and somewhat deserted in places. While the wider region is more scenic, beautiful in spots with lovely nearby villages but you definitely need a car to get the most out of the area. There is a well stocked supermarket approximately 300m outside of the campsite. Also, directly across the road from the campsite there's a bike hire place which is very reasonable which is run by a lovely and very friendly Italian family
We stayed in a Eurocamp Comfort Mobile Home, which was modern, clean and comfortable. However, it was advertised with an outdoor BBQ that was not provided on arrival. We were told this was due to a lack of gas bottles, it was a week into our holiday before one was supplied. This meant additional unexpected costs for us, as we had to eat out more during the first week of our stay. The Eurocamp representatives on site were however a lovely friendly couple and did their best to help in every way even though the issue was outside their control.
There are some positives worth mentioning. The beach is beautiful with a stunning mountain backdrop and incredible sunsets not to be missed. The grounds of the campsite are well maintained and clean at all times. The pool area itself is spotless and never too overcrowded although it did close at a ridiculously early closing time.
For us, while the setting is beautiful, the overall experience was let down by several avoidable issues that made the stay far less enjoyable than expected. However we got on with it and made the most of our Holiday and had an amazing time.
