Our fifth visit to this site with our caravan as it is our favourite in Brittany.
Lovely pool area with separate indoor and outdoor pools and separate toddler’s pool. Toilet/shower area always clean, and other facilities- laundry etc, excellent. No local shops but bar, restaurant, pizza take-away on... site and fresh bread in the morning. Supermarket at Névez. Large pitches in sun or shade, set in a wide selection of trees and hedging. Helpful staff.
Lovely location for walking and exploring. Walk across the fields to beach. Beautiful coastal walk to Rospico Bay along coastal path and restaurant there for food or drink. Great sheltered beach at Port Manec’h, restaurant/creperie and toilets behind and chance to watch the boats entering the estuary to Pont-Aven. Small beaches to the west with easy parking. Trevignon- buy fish off the boats, enjoy a crêpe! Carcaneau- old walled town worth visiting (perhaps ride the little train) and large market on Friday’s but parking always difficult. Pont-Aven a must! Beautiful town, lots of art galleries, picturesque setting on river. Pretty thatched villages of Kerascoêt and Kercanic close by.
What can I say about this place…… ! We chose this place as it said it had a shuttle bus to the surf beach ( in a motorhome so no other form of transport)also it had electric bikes to hire ( in a motorhome so no other no other form of transport), needed WiFi to plan and explore local area or book... a restaurant online. No shuttle bus or surf school, electric bike always broken or owners son taken them and not returned!! Couldn’t pre book for another day either. WiFi was €2 for 2hrs and very poor signal, no mobile dated either due to no service! Staff were quite rude. Shop poorly stocked and shut from 12-5pm, Restaurant on site had nice food but very bad service and attitude. Asked about car hire was told ‘not possible’ but after paying for WiFi I quite quickly managed to call europcar in Concarneau myself but had to go and collect and drop off. There is no cafe, restaurants or shops within walking distance. Kids enjoyed the pool and trampolines but no other noticeable entertainment other than mass football. This is not a motorhome friendly site.
Find out moreNot directly to beach. Prices not justified. Extras unimportant and overevaluated. All is over valued. A beer is 7 euros. Better to go to Fouesnant. Live at night so too! These is a typical old way for vacancies.
Small campsite, staff on hand were helpful and polite and showed up straight away if you needed anything. Accommodation was tired, dated and not particularly comfortable. We were sited under a conker tree with less sunshine than others and with conkers falling from the trees the noise felt like we were... being stoned regularly. A BBQ was provided,we had a gas one which worked reasonably well but others had charcoal types. It was nice to eat on the decking but the constant shade was disappointing. No room to park car alongside so had to put it further down the road although others had space to do so at thiers.
No organised entertainment at all on site and no information provided about there being any in contradiction to the advertised brochure so we just did our own thing.
Swimming pool was a nice area but never saw a lifeguard at any time. Beach area was also very nice with nice sand, rock pools and the sea was of a type you could take a relaxing dip if you fancied to. Just a short walk from the campsite.
Restaurant was basic, menu limited but expensive. Bar was very simple and boring. Shop stock was limited and small but there was a supermarket in nearby Névez.
Facilities were a mix, a decent tidy ablutions building and laundry facility but play equipment was dated and tired. Roadways had high hedging and could be narrow too and care needed to avoid pedestrians and other cars when rounding corners.
Local areas, interesting to visit but restaurants were shut a lot of the time and were also very expensive and could be hit or miss with quality of food.
Dog poo on the streets and play areas was quite obvious and not a very touristy thing really. Dogs being allowed in cafés and restaurants seemed to be acceptable there too. Not my thing.
Plenty of free parking about but some were pay & display.
Roads were quite tight through the
towns and villages.
Roscoff town was worth a visit, lots of restaurants and gift shops in a lovely sandstone building setting, so very useful if you have time to kill before your ferry home.
Overall, I felt disappointed with the holiday, I didn't feel relaxed, facilities were tired, entertainment was missing and dining out was expensive only the pool and beach were the upside.
Most locals were helpful with the language barrier if you attempted to speak French so generally that was overcome positively.
We have visited this campsite a few years in a row and we always have an excellent time. The swimming pool and the beach are both great for the whole family and it is in a great location for days out to Concarneau and Quimper. The reps Andrew and Kate were very helpful and approachable. Some of the Eurocamp... mobiles are a bit old and could do with being updated and refurbished but this didn’t affect what a great holiday we had and we will definitely be back.
