Unfortunately, we would not recommend this campsite.
Before booking, we contacted the owner to see if this campsite would be a good fit for us. We enjoy a quiet campsite, with a pleasant atmosphere, of course, but not too crowded. We were told this was precisely the case: quiet, with only one evening... activity per week.
Upon arrival, however, this turned out to be untrue. There was loud music playing by the pool, and sports activities were being organized. While this was fine, we didn't understand why the volume had to be so high. When we saw the weekly program, we immediately noticed that there were activities on several evenings, including three music evenings that lasted until 11:00 PM. The owner explained that this was the case at all campsites. Ultimately, the noise pollution turned out to be less than expected. During the day, sports activities were regularly held, again often with music. They did adjust this later.
The camping pitches also presented problems. Upon arrival, we were allowed to choose our own pitch, which is unusual during peak season, but the campsite was only about 15% full. We packed everything up and moved to the spot across the street, this time between the mobile homes, where the grass was knee-high and the atmosphere was lacking. Fine for one night, but still not ideal. The next day, the owner advised us to apply plenty of mosquito repellent, but we were allowed to choose another spot. So, within 24 hours, we were already on our third camping spot. The owner's friendliness also diminished after this conversation, becoming curt.
The campsite's location has two advantages. On the one hand, it's a beautiful area: within a 45-minute drive, there are charming towns, beaches, and activities. The campsite itself is situated on a mountain, which creates a dynamic environment. On the other hand, it borders directly on a busy road. Even at night, traffic keeps whizzing by: cars, trucks, tractors, and especially motorcycles, which sometimes seem to be competing, and there are a lot of mosquitoes.
Unfortunately, we also had some rain during our stay. Of course, no one can do anything about the weather, but the smell coming from the bushes afterwards was very unpleasant. A strong compost smell from all the leaves and weeds that were rotting there. We even b
