An unexpected stay

We had booked an alternative campsite (see my review for Yelloh! Village Camp domaine du Columbier) but due to a booking error with the pitch, we found ourselves at this campsite. Usually before we go somewhere we read the reviews on trip advisor and do some research on the local area before booking,... so we found ourselves in new territory; it was here or do the 15hour drive home again.
We were allocated pitch 975 with electricity. This is a typically French campsite and has over 1000 pitches so at first was a bit overwhelming; 1. because we hadn’t initially booked to come here and 2. The pitches are a good size but felt we were a bit crammed in.
It took several days to get over the journey and the upset from the other campsite so we just chilled around the pool. We found ourselves waiting for the pool to open at 10am in order to get a sunbed whilst the children were in the pool. They have a good scheme where they check that people aren’t reserving beds for their own convenience and will remove towels if necessary to free some beds.
This campsite also has access to the beach which has a small lagoon which isnt that deep. We did visit the beach but by 3pm we felt we had no personal space left as the French literally plonked themselves right next to you so we left and choose not to return.
We did go to the bar and restaurant for a drink, slushes and crepe but was a bit disappointed. It was €3 for a can of Perrier and €4 for a not so large slush. The crepe was reheated rather than fresh.
There is a small casino shop on site which was open 7.30am to 7.30pm everyday. It wasn’t too expensive but we had taken our own food so only needed this for crisps and water. We were also able to arrange fridge hire here for €5 per day with a €50 deposit. We had to wait for a fridge to be available but when it did arrive, it was clean and worked efficiently with the heat.
The boulangerie was amazing. The staff were friendly and their products were consistently delicious every morning . It wasn’t overpriced either and was open from 7am to 7.30pm everyday.
Would recommend staying at this campsite it was €780 euros for a 10 night stay for a pitch with electric, 2 adults and 3 children.

We had organised several sightseeing trips before we arrived in France
We drove to St Tropez one evening and enjoyed walking around the town and harbour.
We took the train from St Raphael to Monaco where we took the hop on hop off bus and took in the sights. We also walked around the harbour.
We took the train from St Raphael to Nice and again took the hop on hop off bus. The children found Nice boring so on our way back stopped at Cannes where we walked along the promenade and saw all the Arabian cars outside all the glitzy hotels and plus walked around the marina looking at the boats again.
